I have a major problem with retreats, and I've been to a bunch of them, because they are too damn quiet. It just pisses me off, I'm sorry. And somehow, we are always "busy" going somewhere or doing something, or sitting and getting a progressively sorer back. Last year, the Chinese participants practically froze walking between the buildings in the early morning. However, the food was almost too good. I was just salivating before every meal. (Sorry if this seems a bit shallow, that's just how I responded.)I think maybe if they just locked us in a room with black cushions & nothing else, connecting with the unconditioned might be possible. Maybe? I'm clueless about this...
