Is there any particular reason why the Buddha would not perform miracles? I do not mean in the sense that, to teach that they are not important as just mere illusions of mind, but i mean in an effort to sustain faith miracle working is quite the important part of a Bodhisattva/Buddha's job; without which how would others come to see that which is an illusion? The best way is to show them something beyond comprehension.
