“Buddha (awakened to Dharma) is transcendent so that this fact still remains to be realized—not imagined—which is the goal of the serious adept”

As a Christian who has great affinities for Zen Buddhism, I have always been under the impression that *all* Zen Buddhist were more, rather than less, on the same page (unlike Christians). So, in regards to the quote above, I would think the quintessential goal of *all* Christians, i.e., having a personal relationship with the Christ -- “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”, is akin to what should be the quintessential goal of *all* Buddhist, i.e., “awakened to Dharma”.
