The Radha Samyutta is great. The Buddha equates the 5 aggregates with Mara, he makes it clear that they themselves are evil. Another indirect hint of a transcendent self, for if there were only Mara, no salvation would be possible.

There is a few of the so-call Buddhist forums on the net that forbids the discussion of a transcendental Self. Take Esangha for example, its rule explicitly deters anyone from mentioning the teaching of Self.

Knowing the demise of clinging on to the 5 Skandhas is one thing, while knowing the Deathless is another. I do think most Westerner Buddhists miss the other half of the equation which certainly is quite unfortunate.

On the other hand, I heard those heavily moderated forums are going down in popularity while Buddhist blogs like this site is getting more and more visitors daily. Keep up the good work and I am sure the correct teaching of the Buddha will be known.
